Green Building: Bründl Flagshipstore receives award
ÖGNI Platinum and Crystal certification for the Bründl Sports flagship store.
The Austrian Society for Sustainable Real Estate (ÖGNI) has awarded the Bründl Sports flagship store in Kaprun (opened in October 2021) platinum and crystal. Bründl is the first sports retailer in Austria who has received this valuable DGNB sustainability certificate from the ÖGNI. The award was officially received in Kaprun on 14 June.
Since 1 October 2021 customers can expect an extraordinary shopping experience with many highlights in the new Bründl flagship store on a doubled sales area of 2,500m²: A glass ski service workshop, a ski boot fitting laboratory, the Bründl Skywalk or the Weitblick - Lounge | Rooftop | Bistro. Above all, however, the topic of sustainability played an essential role in the entire project.
"Our new flagship is an extraordinary generation project and the ÖGNI certification is a perfect example of our sustainability in action," emphasises Managing Director Christoph Bründl. "We are very proud to create a high ecological, economic and socio-cultural added value for our environment and in the daily working environment for our employees with this certification," adds Tom Vorreiter, Managing Director Marketing and Expansion. Particularly noteworthy are the responsible extraction of resources, the low-pollutant and low-risk finish, the high indoor air quality and the accessibility. Also of great importance is the use of recycling-friendly building materials and natural materials, the integration of existing furniture and photovoltaic systems for energy generation.
Together with the architects & interior designers of blocher partners from Stuttgart as well as with the construction management MAB from Kaprun, we succeeded in creating an interior concept that takes into account all aspects of sustainability from the large to the small.
"Our vision is to harmonise ecological, social and economic concerns and to design and build living spaces with a responsible approach to people and nature. In order to conserve resources, we consider the entire building cycle as early as the planning stage," explains the responsible architect Dieter Blocher.
This is because the European quality certificate DGNB of the ÖGNI does not evaluate buildings according to individual criteria, but always according to their overall performance: ecology, economy and social aspects are rated equally high. In order to make the social-functional quality even more visible, projects that achieve over 80 percent in the extensive and complex social criteria are also awarded the ÖGNI Crystal.
Sustainability is not just a buzzword at Bründl Sports, but has been part of our corporate philosophy for many years. Since March 2021, the sports retailer has also been climate neutral and has developed a comprehensive sustainability promise, which can be discovered at www.bruendl.at/b-green.
